They are varied in size but good comparison of size is a Central A/C unit.

- How much noise will it make?

Approximately as much noise as an air conditioning unit around

- What do I have to do if the power goes out?
- Answer:
Nothing. The generator will start automatically.

- Question:
- How does an automatic stand by generator work?
- Answer:
Generator’s are connected by an automatic transfer switch (ATS) to the power from your utility. The ATS continually monitors the power supply, upon an interruption it will automatically switch to power from the generator in 10-15 seconds. It will run until utility service is restored then automatically shut down.

- Is there financing available?
- Answer:
We work with local and national credit providers to offer financing packages. A home improvement loan is an option that may allow you to make low monthly payments and tax benefits. Credit to be approved by the lender.

- What does a system generally cost?
- Answer:
There are many variables contributing to the total cost – the system itself, a transfer switch, installation and propane tank (if necessary). Cost is dependant on your individual requirements A basic installation is approximately $3.00 Sq ft.

- How do I tell when the tank needs to be refilled?
- Answer:
We now have equipment that monitors your tank, it will automatically send a message to the propane company to come and refill your tank. You never have to worry about running out of gas again.

- Question:
- If I have a tank, how long will the fuel last?
- Answer:
Typically clients’ install a tank that stores enough fuel to run for around a week. We will help you select the right size.

- Question:
- What does the generator run on?
- Answer:
Most homes and businesses will run on natural gas supplied by your utility or tank stored propane. Some applications use diesel generators.

- Where are they installed?
- Answer:
They are usually installed a small distance from service entrance (where the power enters the home or business). We will help you decide the best place to install the generator & tank if needed.

- Can I install the unit myself?
- Answer:
It is required that a certified installer is used to maintain your warranty. Our installers are qualified, licensed, certified, and insured.

- What do I need to do for the installation?
- Answer:
We take care of everything. Installations will be done in accordance with your local codes and compliances; we’ll obtain all the necessary paperwork.

- How long does it take to install?
- Answer:
Order to Operation typically 3-4weeks. Installation in 1-2 days with minimal power interruption – usually no more than 1 hour.

- When does the generator need servicing?
- Answer:
Annual maintenance is required, however some manufacturers recommend an oil change every six months.

- How long is the warranty period?
- Answer:
Depending on brand and model, warranties are typically between 2 years and 5 years.

- What is the life expectancy of a generator?
- Answer:
If serviced at recommended intervals, life expectancy based on normal use should be 25 years or longer.

- How do I know the generator will start when needed if it hasn’t been operational for an extended period?

Our generators exercise themselves (start up, run for 5-20mins, shut off) at regular intervals, so they are always prepared.
